Ice cream melting effect through manipulating mesh vertices
Implementation
I spent most of my time understanding math, Since I want to make a circle move, my instinct is to have a subdivided circle like this:
I have the formula to calculate every vertex coordinate. My problem is how I can use code to set triangles index, I found the solution here, and got the result I want.
Then I use the x and y value of the vertex to differentiate the speed, add a little bit of randomness.
For sprinkles, I instantiate small triangles and follow a random vertex on the ice cream scoop.
What’s next
If I want a smooth and natural movement, noise is needed
And maybe use vertex color for a more realistic style?
